When I think about Carol … Cafés! She always knew the best cafés. An outing with Carol always started in a café. Even when I was not meeting up with her she had a recommendation for me as to where I should go for tea and cake. And it was always good.

Her grace, her elegance, her humour, her generosity, her interest in all things, her unfailing spirit, her dedication, her charm, her empathy …… for 50 years, a constant in my life, I miss her enormously.
